A Simple Explanation of the Services We Provide

The easiest way to learn how we help people find lower cost, higher quality healthcare is to follow the four step process below. Please note that all work is performed by DAL's Medical Travel International division.

 

The Process

 

The Services We Provide

Step 1: Patients considering medical travel should call Medical Travel International directly (1-800-501-0024).

After explaining how the process works, MTI assists the patient in selecting a destination for the medical travel, as well as a local physician from within the MTI network.

The local physician's purpose is to perform medical assessment and review of the patient's needs, prior to making an on-going referral to the international physician and hospital selected. MTI will coordinate and schedule an appointment with the local physician.

  • Explanation of, and assistance in physician selection

  • Explanation of, and assistance in hospital selection

  • Assistance in destination selection

  • Discussion of alternative options

  • Introduction and appointment scheduling with the physician of patient's choice

 

Step 2: Patient meets with local physician.

Local physician will discuss the specifics of the medical necessities, procedure or treatment being sought. Physician will discuss international medical options, available physicians, and hospitals that fit the procedure and treatment being considered. Physician will perform health and wellness evaluation and any other required tests.   Physician will provide referral to attending international physician through the Medical Travel International network..

 

Medical Travel International sets up appointment with local physician

  • Administrative record tracking

  • Secure international records transfer

  • Language interpretation services

  • Data processing

  • Assistance to the physician in patient follow up prior, during and after completion of all medical services

 

Step 3: Upon physician’s referral, Medical Travel International will complete all introductions, referrals, schedule and other arrangements with the international hospital and physicians.

 Medical Travel International will coordinate and arrange for patient preferences for travel, accommodations, length of stay, tourism options, nurse assistance, peer support, et al. If patient requests, Medical Travel International will arrange for and coordinate having a medical assistant travel with the patient, or meet them upon arrival, whether for translation services or any other purpose.

Medical Travel International completes all arrangements and confirms such with all parties.

Patient travels, receives treatment, engages in tourism activities and returns home.

  • International hospital and physician scheduling and arrangements

  • Travel & accommodation arrangements

  • Travel assistance/accompaniment

  • Arrangements for special requests:

    • Personal nurse assistance

    • Local transportation

    • Site seeing

    • Interpreters

    • Tourism

    • Dinner reservations

    • Letters of introduction to local business and society leaders

  • Financing options

  • Visa assistance

  • ... and much more

 

Step 4: Upon return from treatment, local physician performs post-treatment follow up. As requested, Medical Travel International assists physician in follow up services, protocol compliance tracking (i.e. making sure that the patient understands and follows the treating Doctor's instructions during any recovery period) and other services that may be requested by the patient.

If requested, Medical Travel International will oversee post-procedure follow up
